With 94% of the vote in, McCaffery had received 59% of the vote to Kunselman’s 41%. McCaffery, a Superior Court judge and former assistant district attorney in Philadelphia, advanced to the general election after defeating fellow Superior Court judge Deborah Kunselman in the Democratic primary.
